WHAT DOES THE PROJECT “LIVING CASTLES” REPRESENT?

In the center of the project “Living Castles” is the preservation and evaluation of mansions / castles through the development of a common cross-border tourist offer and the integration of innovative activities of preservation and representation of heritage.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN OUTCOMES OF THE PROJECT “LIVING CASTLES”?

– Increase the expected number of visits supported by cultural or natural heritage sites and other attractions
– Small scale investments in visitor infrastructure and preservation of natural and cultural heritage
– New or improved cross-border products and sustainable tourism destinations of integrated natural or cultural heritage
– Employment of persons participating in capacity building activities for research, development and innovation

WHAT IS THE MAJOR GUIDELINE OF THE PROJECT?

The main guideline of the project is the establishment of a common brand for castles and mansions, which will help in better recognition and promotion, with the desire to present it both domestically and internationally as a joint tourist product, modelled on the castles of the southern Czech and Bavarian castles. Cities will be equipped with common labeling panels, joint promotion and grouped thematic events will be implemented, enriching the ongoing offer.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT “LIVING CASTLES” FOCUSED ON?

Castles are monumental and culturally protected buildings, which is why their purpose is often rigidly determined, so the changes are heavy and costly. The project will pay close attention to finding solutions with small investments and modern ICT equipment to fill the gaps and breathe a new life to the castles and give the visitors with a better experience.
